Canadian club star Deadmau5 back-tracked from branding all DJs ‘fucking cunts’ this week, insisting he was only referring to those who fit ‘the concept that ‘I recognize as being a “disc jockey”’ in a recent interview with Ireland’s Daily Star.

“Let me start by admitting . . . I did not grow up in the EDM (electronic dance music) scene. I don’t consider my career to be about “being a DJ”. I don’t have “DJ roots”. I never had any intention of becoming a DJ,” he declared in a statement posted on his Myspace blog.

“And my conception of “DJ’s” in general from this standpoint has always been . . . being forced into some nightclub when I would have rather stayed home, and watch some dood (dude) mash the “play / stop” button and occasionally move a pitch slider. Love it or hate it, that’s just been my conception of the traditional “dj”,” he said.

“I’m not a total fucking idiot, and I recognize talent when I see it . . . and there are many talented DJ’s out there for sure,” he conceded.

Two weeks previously the Star quoted him as comparing DJs to ‘fucking lawyers’ (‘you need them but they’re fucking cunts’) adding that he was ‘bored to fucking tears’ with DJs and hoped they ‘will fucking go the way of the dinosaur’.
.
This week, however, he took the tabloid to task for ‘picking out all the stupid bits . . . to interview me about anything other than music . . . is stupid: Period’, to the consternation of Star Music editor (and acclaimed DJ) Mark Kavanagh.

“The headline (‘Deadmau hates DJs’) was my doing but that’s my job. I made the most out of the raw material he gave us,” Mark told Skrufff.

“He was a bit mean about our staff writer Ciara in his web postings about this afterwards, calling her a ‘random chick’ and making her out to have made the quotes up but we have the tape and she didn’t make anything up,” he continued.

“For the record, Ciara Cunnane is a reputable, full-time staff member at the Irish Daily Star (and reputable electro-rock DJ around Dublin) and has a copy of the interview on tape,” he said. “In fairness to Deadmau5, he’s just naïve about the media,” he added.

Judge Jules headlines the upcoming Trance Awards at Ministry Of Sound’s Gallery next weekend and chatting to Skrufff this week, suggested a simple explanation of the genre’s enduring popularity.

“Trance is the ultimate big room/arena sound, and therefore gets exposed to a very large audience at all the major events around the world, hence the large support in the polls,” said Jules.

The TrackItDown backed event also includes sets from upcoming Romanian star Claudia Cazacu, The Thrillseekers and Deepgroove with the awards being announced throughout the night.

Jules also chatted more about his upcoming artist album ‘Bring The Noise’ which includes a track co-produced with Skrufff chief Jonty Skrufff, Trainwreck.

“I’ve been featuring sections from Jonty’s essential weekly online news piece Skrufff on JudgeJules.net for many years, and we got friendly that way,” said Jules, explaining the connection.

“And I’ve watched his DJ career take off big-time, with tune-making the natural next step.”

Jules said the Nebular released record is ‘all trance influenced, with some more conventional trance offerings, plus slower and more techy trance, still with trance undertones’, with no hip hop elements despite its Public Enemy referencing title.

“I loved Public Enemy as a kid, but that wasn’t the influence,” said Jules, “To be honest, someone emailed me and suggested it,” he confessed.

You might say that November is the “Dennis Sheperd & Cold Blue” month. A new forthcoming “Cold Blue Mix” will soon be available for the “Prime Of Life” single (which was released earlier this year) along with an entirely new single to be revealed in November.

Dennis Sheperd & Cold Blue - Prime Of Life (Cold Blue Mix)!

On the second week of December, the “Cold Blue Mix” of “Prime Of Life” will see the light of day. It will be released with many other exclusive mixes and tunes on a digital compilation with High Contrast Recordings!
Cold Blue has added his renowned and highly demanded trance vibe to the original mix. The result is a version of the track which is worth looking out for and will likely climb the charts!

Dennis Sheperd & Cold Blue - Not Too Late!

On the 18th of November, we will see the release of this duo’s new single.
The track includes vocals by none other than Chloe Langley, a female singer from New Zealand who has already worked with DJ Shah on his recent album.
The package will include a “Dennis Sheperd Mix” (incorporating Dennis’ well known housy trance style) and an uplifting “Cold Blue Mix”.
In addition to these mixes, there will be a remix from Nhato, a great new talent from Tokyo, Japan. He adds his very own tech-trance spin to the single giving the release a special touch.

Kalafut & Fygle - Novocaine (Dennis Sheperd Remix):

Dennis has had the chance to remix one of his favourite tunes from 2006 titled “Novocaine” by Kalafut & Fygle and released with Motion Music (UK).
The “Mark Otten Remix” of the tune already landed on “In Search Of Sunrise Vol. 5″ and is still one of Tiësto’s favourites!
Let’s see if he will soon have a new favourite mix to play!

Euphonic Sessions:

Dennis officially hosts the 5th Euphonic Sessions show this month. Get prepared for some action from Germany!

Forthcoming Radio Appearances:

Euphonic Sessions November 2008 (hosted by Dennis Sheperd)
Guestmix @ The Next Level 103 (Ernesto vs Bastian)

Filling Me With Desire - Remix Competition - Get Your Own Vinyl Release On Nu Energy!!!

The NEC and Nu Energy Recordings are hosting a remix competition offering the winner a chance to have their remix on a vinyl release. On top of that they are offering a short term recording contract for the winners to have their own EP further down the line. The remix is open to absolutely anybody but in a bid to encourage up and coming talent it excludes any artists that have already had a release out on vinyl.

Label owner Kevin Energy says: “The remix can be of any style so please don’t use the original as anything more then a reference point. I’m looking for fresh ideas and of-course nice production. The original has scope to become so many things so your imagination is the key. I will have up-to 3 winners on the winning EP and I’d like each final version to have its own individual properties.”

To enter, firstly download the remix pack from here:
http://www.nuenergycollective.com/stream/fmwdremixpack.zip
If you have any troubles with the pack please contact us through the NEC site.

The original track is catalogue number NUNRG060 featured here:
http://www.nuenergycollective.com/index.php?option=com_labels&task=label&id=25

Winning entries must be uploaded to your NEC user profile at http://www.nuenergycollective.com so everybody can hear and discuss them. You must PM Kevin Energy through the site when you have uploaded your remix. The competition is open from now. The closing date is Thursday 27th November 2008. The winners will be announced on the NEC site on Friday November the 28th.

Good luck people.

‘The king of tec is back with what could be his biggest anthem ever, the riff will send you ”Wilde”.’ UK Buzz Chart – issue 229

International music legend Marco V is back and firing on all cylinders with what we believe is one of his most sensational tracks ever – and smashing in at #8 on the UK Buzz Chart, we’re not the only ones that think so either!

Coma Aid, released on Marco’s own ‘In Charge Records’, is Marco’s ear-inspiring take on Kim Wilde’s 80’s classic Cambodia. We can hear the pennies drop – yes that’s the sample and Marco has used it to stunning effect.

With an undeniably hypnotic groove, Coma Aid is sure to get dance-floors moving uncontrollably. The track works its way through pulsating delayed percussion and riffs providing a newer and fresher sound that still carries the trademark Marco V style. Injecting new life into the well-worn trance genre, the track seamlessly crosses over and appeals to other dance music fans such as the more techno-orientated enthusiasts.

Coma Aid marks the beginning of a new stream of records coming from the Dutch master with more releases to come in 2009. This exciting new wave of material has got everyone involved tingling with excitement and we’re sure it will have the same effect on you.

Coma Aid is available for download on www.beatport.com, www.trackitdown.net and all other major online music sites right now!

Communist Party officials in Russia launched a bizarre attack on Ukrianian actress Olga Kurylenko this week, for unpatriotically starring in the new James Bond film Quantum Of Solace.

The St. Petersburg-based KPLO group criticised her for ‘lounging around on the Cote D-Azur while ‘your peers are engaged in struggles against NATO’ and labelled her a ‘wanton daughter of unclean Ukraine and deserter of the Slavic world.’

“The Soviet Union educated you, cared for you, and brought you up for free,” KPLO added, “But no one suspected that you would commit this act of intellectual and moral betrayal.”

Their issue with the notoriously promiscuous fictional British spy emerged several years after MI5 confirmed that the tales of real KGB spy John Symond were in fact true, some 25 years after the former London cop first confessed to out-sexing his (fictional) counterpart James Bond in the 70s.

Mr Symonds told MI5 he’d been given gold teeth and extensive training to equip him for his role, which included extensive hands-on tuition on sexual techniques by highly skilled Russian agents.

“I was taught how to be a better lover. Perhaps I wasn’t a very good one before, I don’t know,” the Soviet spy told the BBC in 1999, “But it was very pleasant. I was taught by two extremely beautiful girls,” he said.

MI5 were also bamboozled by notorious pot smuggler turned Manumission personality Howard Marks who used his membership in Britain’s secret service in the 70s as a cover for his smuggling.

I didn’t have anything to do with MI5—it was MI6, and even then I didn’t meet very many of their people,” Marks told High Times in an interview in 2006, “I wouldn’t necessarily say they were stupid,” the Oxford graduate added, “Just that their choice of career was.”

Dubai prosecutors have appealed against the ‘lenient’ 3 month prison terms given to ‘Sex on the beach’ Brit duo Michelle Palmer and Vince Acors, meaning the couple could find themselves sentenced to even longer when their appeal is heard on November 18.

The out on bail pair’s plight worsened as a new study of 1,000 Brits abroad revealed that over one in four of all ages having had sex on a beach, with more than one in three under 30s (36%) doing the same.

“The Dubai case has attracted worldwide media attention, but this survey goes to show that the practice is far from unusual,” study chief Andrew Gibson, director of DirectHolidayBookings.com commented.

“The consequences of having sex on a public beach are obviously far more serious somewhere like Dubai than they would be in a European country, If you can’t resist alfresco whilst on holiday, then perhaps renting a private holiday home is the best way to avoid getting caught,” he urged.

Brits abroad portal ShelterOffshore.com, meanwhile, published a detailed guide to dealing with Dubai cops this week, which warned that even kissing in public can result in ‘a very tough time potentially’, with local police also unusually easy to offend.

“Never ever, ever display any form of negative attitude in front of a police officer. You must remain subservient, utterly polite and humble at all times if you want to stand a chance of a positive outcome to the situation,’ the site warned.

“If you can cry and visibly show how upset you are by the situation, so much the better,” the site advised.

Quite how uncontrollably people should cry remains unclear, though a study by British psychologists published in 2006 said Brit girls at least, prefer men to stay reasonably manly.

“We have found that the right way to cry is to show you have a strong feeling, but with a moist eye and single tear,” study chief Professor Stephanie Shields told the Independent.

“Outright crying is typically more negatively evaluated than the moist eye which shows the intensity of tears but also shows you are in control of yourself,” she added.

Now returning to the equally iconic Maelstrom Records under his Pulser alias, we present to you Sunseeker.

After being discovered by Paul Oakenfold back in 1997, Pulser has progressed from the classic ‘Cloudwalking’ era of 2000 and today gives way to a honed, harder, electro-tinged, style of progressive trance. Equally known for his DJ sets, Pulser has played at some of the biggest events in the club calendar but doesn’t let this go to his head. With an ethos to always support new tracks from up and coming artists, Andy frequently chooses the new breed over established names to remix his own tracks, helping to promote them and keep the scene fresh.

Providing Vocal and Dub mixes, Sunseeker is a slick produced piece of euphoria, a perfect soundtrack for chasing that sunset or sipping a cool drink whilst chilling on the beach – the weather may be turning dismal but Sunseeker can help transport you somewhere else.

It’s been the most tremendous year in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, and there are plenty of surprises.

A mind-boggling 350,000 voted for your favourite selectors, with votes flying in from 167 countries, reflecting the fact that we really do inhabit a dance music planet.

Votes from the USA were most plentiful, very closely followed by the UK, voracious electronic music consumers Germany and the increasingly BPM-hungry Russia. Perhaps most unexpected is that Mexico came fifth place, itself an exploding territory when it comes to club culture.

Holding the Crown
It was a close run thing but as you’ve no doubt noticed, Armin van Buuren retains his crown, nabbing the No.1 DJ spot for the second year running, followed by fellow Dutch trancemaster Tïësto retaining his position at No.2.

The Anjunabeats future trance trio Above & Beyond are up two places at No.4, and David Guetta has zapped from No.10 to No.5, no doubt helped by his huge Unighted event at Paris’s Stade de France this year. Progressive trance dude Markus Schulz also bust into the Top 10, up five spots from No.13 to No.8.

Firebrands
The biggest shock this year is the amount of newbies who’ve broken into the poll. An unprecedented 25 new entries demonstrates that the kids are voting with their feet, knocking the old guard off balance in favour of the young-blood firebrands breaking through.
“Each year the poll brings surprises one way or another,” says DJmag Editor Lesley Wright. “This year’s surprise is the number of new kids breaking through in this popularity poll. It’s a pretty seismic shift and obviously shows that the new generation of clubbers have their own young heroes. It’ll be interesting to see how that goes down with some of the old guard…”

Most extraordinary of all is the showing of Deadmau5, aka Canadian cat Joel Zimmerman, who rockets straight to No.11 — the highest new entry EVER.
“Deadmau5 is on fire,” says Lesley. “He’s gone from being a relative unknown to being one of the biggest electro house players in the space of just a year. You’ve gotta take your hat off to him.”
Known mostly for his productions, Joel has been playing live and DJing with his own material extensively in 2008, which has brought his genre straddling styles to ever-bigger audiences. Named as Producer of the Year by 2007’s No.1 and No.2 (Armin and Tïësto respectively), it’s great to see him perform so well in 2008.

Ready, aim, fire!
Another DJ to rinse out 2008 is Prince of Darkness, Dubfire. The erstwhile Deep Dish dude, Ali Shirazinia, has taken his deep minimal techno incarnation to new heights, blasting into No.30 as a new entry under his solo moniker.
He stunned all and sundry last year with his new dark underground direction, tracks like ‘Roadkill’ and ‘Rib Cage’, and uncompromising DJ sets, and in the last few months he’s taken his style to the next level with storming sets at Cocoon, amongst others.
Other techno types to do well this year include Ricardo Villalobos (up 13), Richie Hawtin (up 4) and Brazil’s Anderson Noise, who is up 28 places to No.26, no doubt assisted by the rallying efforts of Djmag’first sister publication, DJmag Brazil.

The influence of our sister magazines has been felt elsewhere too. Bobina and fellow countryman DJ Feel are the first Russians to ever break into the poll following the arrival of DJmag Ukraine, which has drummed up votes from across the former Soviet state. And although the names might not be instantly familiar, scratch beneath the surface and you’ll discover that Bobiba in particular is massive in his home territory.
DJmag Poland, too, has clearly made its impression felt, rallying the trance troops to ensure that Polish DJ Tiddey blasted in as a new entry at No.81.

New Wave
Trance has always fared well in the DJmag Top 100. But whereas last year’s poll was characterised by an influx of techno DJs, this year brings a trance tsunami crashing into the poll, as a new wave of genre champions contribute to a massive resurgence.
Egyptian duo Aly & Fila are new showings, while Adam Sheridan, Sean Tyas, John O’Callaghan and Simon Patterson all enter the poll for the first time. There are some notable leaps in popularity too with Kyau & Albert up 35 places to clinch this year’s Highest Climbers award.
The psy-trance contingent, meanwhile, also make an impression on the chart, with Solar System new at No.85 and Astral Projection fresh at No.94.

Back in the house!
Though dominated by trance, several new house DJs have entered the poll. After Deadmau5’s extraordinary performance, the next highest house cat is Joachim Garraud. Known previously as David Guetta’s producer, the France-born DJ’s profile went through the roof in 2008 thanks to tireless gigging.
Dutch electro dude Laidback Luke also makes his poll debut, no doubt helped by his imaginative new style, blending the fidget funk of artists like Diplo with big room house to stunning effect.

Despite an overall lack of junglist DJs in the poll, two major players represent the genre to the hilt. Ram Records main man Andy C snags the Highest Drum & Bass DJ, zapping 17 places to No.50, while DJ Hype is up 11 to No.71.
The two most renowned pairs of Parisian noise specialists, meanwhile — Daft Punk and Justice — again make respectable showings, with the robotic duo at No.38 and the leather-clad electro rockers at No.73. Daft Punk’s showing is all the more remarkable in that they only performed once this year for a live performance at the Grammy Awards.

Like last year, no breaks DJs have dented the poll once again with the hard dance scene also woefully absent: only Lisa Lashes appears, the only woman in the poll bar techno queen Magda.

Love it or loath it, the Top 100 DJs poll is a snapshot of a DJ’s worldwide popularity and visibility. Check out this year’s results in full and let the heated debate begin…

30 Girls wearing tight trousers were arrested and beaten by cops in Sudan this week after being suspected of being members of youth gangs ‘known for drinking, fighting and public nudity’. (Edinburgh Evening News).

The girls faced three months in jail for violating new laws criminalising ‘bad behaviour and the importation of illicit cultures’, though were released after Gender Minister Mary Kinden Kimbo stepped in.

“Girls were picked up from points like in the church and were hurled into police lorries and taken to the police station, some of them were beaten up, that is why the girls were very distressed,” the Sudanese politician told the BBC.

“I am against the police taking action single-handedly to round up everybody and start beating them because that is not their job,” she added.

The dangers of tight trousers were previously emphasised in 2003 when Canadian scientists published a paper on women suffering from paresthesia, described as a tingling, burning nerve sensation experienced by women whose trousers were pinching a nerve.

A survey of British men in 2000 also revealed that half were putting their health at risk by squeezing into too right trousers, in order to deny the grim reality of their expanding waistlines.

“Men tend to stand in front of the mirror and pull in their stomachs, and then think they look okay,” Professor Stephen Gray, of Nottingham Trent University told the BBC.

“For the same reason, they will squeeze into trousers which are too small because they don’t want to admit they have put on weight,” he added, “But wearing trousers too small often means they are worn under the gut, and that only exacerbates their stomachs.”

The Guardian also revealed some years ago that trousers are the garment ‘responsible for more accidents than any other in the UK’, with an estimated 3,695 visiting hospital emergency wards a year, according to ROSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

While 700 men were treated for accidents caused by zips in their pants in 2002, many more hurt themselves by “accidentally tripping because of a wide-flared trouser” and “putting your trousers on too quickly, losing your balance, and falling over”, ROSPA spokesperson Karen Blanchette told the BBC.

Tight trouser issues were also highlighted by Sex Pistol singer Johnny Rotten in an interview with the Sun in 2005 in which he taunted rival pop star Bono from U2.

“Bono, Sting and Bob have formed this ridiculous blessed trilogy – stop preaching, please,” he begged.

“Every time I see Bono in those big fly glasses and tight leather pants I just can’t hack it. I can’t see that as solving the world’s problems. He’s crushing his testicles in tight trousers for world peace,” said Lydon.

British dance magazine Mixmag announced they’re switching venues for their highly anticipated London event next weekend (Friday October 17) from Pacha to Egg, following the recent massive police raid on the club,

Hervé, Riton and Little Boots headline the hotly anticipated event which also features a Dubstep room with Appleblim and Hatcha.

Meanwhile in Ibiza, Spanish paramilitary shut down DC10 again last weekend in a move Ibiza-Voice suggested could spell the end for the hugely popular club.

“The Authorities closed the Dc10 this Monday just 10 minutes before Circoloco session was supposed to start,” Circoloco revealed on their Myspace page.

“For the closing party on 13 October, we need to wait the decision of the judge in 2 or 3 days! Sorry we are circoloco!” they added.

Circoloco subsequently announced that their closing party is to take place at Privilege from 18.00 on Monday 13th October, headlined by Luciano and Tania Vulcano.

Balearic portal Ibiza-Voice said local councillors agreed to implement the one year ban and €300,000 fine on DC10 imposed for breaching their 65 person limit, and suggested ‘the home of Circoloco had no chance’.

“A year long closure from October would see DC10 shut for the 2009 season.
Moreover, however much people have enjoyed the last 2 months at Circo Loco, those events now provide the ammunition for further proceedings to be brought against the club before the 2010 season,” Ibiza-voice explained.

“If anyone was unsure, it is clear that the authorities will not stop until DC10 ceases to be. The solution of a licence being granted to the club is the logical solution but it will never happen,” they predicted.

Horrific details emerged this week of the final moments of popular clubber Damian Oldfield, who was killed in April by Anthony Morley, the first ever winner of Mr Gay UK.

Prosecutor Andrew Stubbs, QC, told Leeds Crown Court that Mr Morley, a trained chef, killed Damian in a ‘violent frenzy’ before dismembering the gay magazine advertising executive.

“From a chopping board on one of the kitchen units, six pieces of cooked flesh, which had been seasoned with fresh herbs and fried in olive oil were recovered. The flesh was human in origin,” Mr Stubbs said.

“Having killed him upstairs, the defendant carved away a piece of flesh, took it downstairs to his kitchen, where he seasoned it, fried it and tried to eat it.”

Arresting officer PC Richard Tinker told the court he heard Morley mumbling that he’d killed Damian for trying to rape him, adding that he’d cut his finger during the assault.

“I think I did this when my hand slipped on the knife when I was putting it into his chest,” Morley reportedly said, “The rib cage is hard to get through, especially from the back, harder than you think.”

Pictures of Damian’s personality continued to emerge on his memorial website on GoneTooSoon.org, including a poignant post from Damian’s Mum.

“I still can’t believe your gone, my heart is still broken and the tears still fall,” she wrote in a message posted at the top of the site.

“I miss you so much it hurts think of you all the time. I put you with my dad on your birthday, put some lillies and a couple of cans of stella (Stella Artois beer),” she said.

“One day I will be there with you. Until then, sleep right, babes, love you.”

Friend Jonny Wells posted a tribute this week, recalling party sessions at the Zone in Northern seaside resort Blackpool.

“We did seem to party quite a bit in those days didn’t we? (crazy days),” he recalled, “You were always in the centre of it all, causing trouble and making people laugh.”

School friend Andy echoed his sentiments.

“You were always up for a laugh and had everyone in stitches, the life and soul of everything,” he said, “You will be very much missed.”

SHORT EDIT / ORIGINAL MIX / MARTIN ROTH VS BLANK & JONES MASHUP / AUDIONATICA REMIX / AUDIONATICA & C STAFFERI REMIX

LABEL: MAELSTROM RECORDS

After much success surrounding their ninth artist album The Logic Of Pleasure and single Miracle Cure that features the famed and distinguished vocal’s of New Order / Joy Division’s Bernard Sumner, Blank & Jones return to Maelstrom to drop a second release taken from the album, California Sunset.

Blank & Jones AKA Piet Blank and Jaspa Jones first hit club land over ten years ago with the smash Sunrise which saw the duo propelled into the forefront of the trance scene. Since then, the guys have produced, mixed and remixed some of the biggest records from the scene, with many releases scoring highly in the charts in their native German homeland.

California Sunset is a tightly put together, euphoric slice of trance. With a rolling break down and gentle build-ups, this track really does illustrate its title perfectly. Martin Roth duels with Blank & Jones for a mashup of the original, providing a funked up prog house rhythm, whilst Audionatica turns in two deep minimal cuts, the second being jointly produced with fellow Swiss DJ Producer, C Stafferi.

With support already rolling in from Tiësto and Armin van Buuren, watch this space for more Blank & Jones news!

Amsterdam, October 1st 2008.
The first ever Dance4Life album has been released around the world. The profits are going to the Dance4Life schools projects in 20 countries, which empower young people to take action themselves in pushing back HIV and AIDS. 19 of the world’s most popular DJs and artists have come together to create an album and support these young people. By buying the cd or downloading the tracks, you can do the same.

“This CD is a perfect example of how Dance4Life raises funds in a new way by selling great music. My freedom mix of the Dance4Life track features Desmond Tutu and will help raise funds and awareness, buy it and support Dance4Life” says Tiësto.

Dance4Life and the dance revolution:
Enthusiasm. Inspiration. Action. These are the positive attributes that make Dance4Life an innovative approach to stop HIV and AIDS worldwide. Reaching almost 500,000 young people aged 13 to 19 in 20 countries since its start in 2004, Dance4Life gives youth the opportunity to break the boundaries of ethnicity, language and nationality to form a movement for and by young people. A movement that can and will push back HIV and AIDS.

DJs and artists:
Some of the world’s greatest DJs and artists have donated exclusive never-before released tracks and remixes for this album. Many of them are Dance4Life Ambassadors who will be performing at the Dance4Life Event on 29th November 2008. These tracks have been inspired by Dance4Life, and the Tiësto remix even features Desmond Tutu!

Dance4Life Music:
The album ‘Dance4Life’ is available on Itunes, bol.com, trackitdown.net online and in the shops in the Netherlands and Belgium and is available for download worldwide. Beyourself Music supports Dance4Life with the production, distribution and promotion of the album. Dance4Life will release more music products under the name Music4Life in the future in order to generate funds and make people dance4life.

British doctors warned this week that ‘significant numbers’ of British clubbers are taking high strength MDMA by mistake, believing they are snorting other drugs including ketamine and coke.

“We see a lot of patients who have taken white powder they think is cocaine but is clearly MDMA,” Dr Paul Dargan, of Guy’s and St Thomas’s poisons unit told a meeting of scientists considering reclassifying E from Class A to class B, “It is a clinically common issue.” (London Standard)

Leading ecstasy expert and panel member Professor Val Curran also spoke at the meeting and during the debate described numerous previous studies linking E with memory loss and depression as ‘meaningless’.

“We have not found [one] person who was dependent on ecstasy,” the University College London Professor noted, “The people who used it were actually a bit less depressed. There’s no robust evidence of long-term effects. Further research is needed,” she added (BBC).

Both the BBC and Times noted the British government’s immediate refusal to consider reclassifying E ‘whatever the evidence’, reflecting their ongoing policy of rejecting all scientific advice about drugs they don’t agree with.

In more drugs news, the Guardian meanwhile predicted politicians of both parties are likely to ignore the recommendations of a United Nations drug policy review document due out next year, which proposes setting up a ‘regulated market’ for cannabis.

The UN backed Beckley Foundation reportedly found that most harm associated with cannabis comes from social issues related to being arrested and/ or imprisoned and suggesting taxing and controlling supply in a similar way to alcohol could reduce harm dramatically.

“Although cannabis can have a negative impact on health, including mental health, in terms of relative harms it is considerably less harmful than alcohol or tobacco,” the report says, “Historically, there have only been two deaths worldwide attributed to cannabis, whereas alcohol and tobacco together are responsible for an estimated 150,000 deaths per annum in the UK alone.” (The Guardian)

“Don’t take drugs hmmkay”

Romanian trance star Claudia Cazacu chatted this week about her new releases ‘Mayan Temple’, ‘XXI-XII-MMXII (21st December 2012) and revealed that as well as believing in the Mayan Prophecy she also expects aliens to reveal themselves next week.

“It’s not so long ago we believed the world was flat, the speed at which we are advancing now is unbelievable so why should it be that we are the only life to exist in the universe?” Claudia pointed out. (do do do do0 - Nanoo nanoo)

“I’m not sure what to expect because we don’t know what kind of existence these creatures have but I’m excited by the prospect that we can live in harmony and learn from beings from another place and time.

“The world seems to be in such a fragile state at the moment, just look at the last week’s headlines with wars, terrorist attacks and the worlds economies in freefall, my hope is that the realisation of new life forms could bring some stability to our planet. I guess all we can do is just wait and see,” she added.

Claudia’s predictions reflect those of British channeller Blossom GoodChild who for some time has been predicting that a bunch of aliens from the Federation of Light will be arriving in Alabama a week on Tuesday (on October 14). Posting on numerous websites, the medium suggest the aliens will be arriving in a 2000 mile wide space ship centred over Alabama for three days and nights, to introduce themselves before saving some humans before the world self destructs. Claudia, however, denied being apocalyptic, even with respect to 2012.

“People are saying the end of the world will come. I do not believe in things like this,” she stressed, “We are not talking about an end, but I do believe something major will happen in 2012. I believe that we will enter another dimension. We are right now in the third dimension and my personal opinion is that we will go into a fourth one. This shouldn’t be scary like most of people perceive it. I think a change will do us good,” she predicted.

Blossom Goodchild posted an updated message meanwhile on September 28 clarifying that the aliens are still definitely coming on October 14, though maybe not in Alabama.

Claudia’s new single Mayan Temple should be out shortly on Couture Records.
