Tuesdays At Amnesia

by citybeat on Jun.30, 2008, under News

THE RETURN OF THE GIANT, ONLY THE GIANT JUST GOT BIGGER… MUCH BIGGER!

Armada return to the Balearic Mecca for their fifth year. Ibiza 2008 is fast approaching and trance titans. Joining Armada’s elite force, Tuesdays at Amnesia welcome a new player – ‘Contact’.
Contact will rip up the terrace each week, inviting labels like the mighty Toolroom and Yoshitoshi along for the house music ride.

It’s sole aim being to bring the most talented international DJs and producers together under one roof, thus creating a true Ibiza experience.

Armada is the one of the biggest forces in modern day dance music, boasting a back catalogue that no-one can rival, stellar artists, and is, of course, home to the No.1 DJ in the world – Armin Van Buuren. Armin topped the world’s most important DJ poll — DJmag’s Top 100 — in October last year and this impending Ibiza season is his first as ruler of the DJ roost!

On Tuesday July 1st , the international successful radio show of Armin van Buuren ‘A State Of Trance’ will be recorded live at Ibiza during a special edition of ‘Tuesdays Amnesia’.
Exclusive to Armada at Amnesia, Armin will play a massive 11 weeks out of the 14-week season, during which he’ll record a very special ‘A State of Trance’ and command an ‘Armin Only’ event
certainly two of the many highlights coming your way this summer. He’s joined by fellow heavyweight Markus Schulz, who’s vacating his Miami home for the entire season, soaking up 10 dates in Ibiza, as well as a non-stop tour of Europe.

The whole line up represents the very best in international DJ talent and includes:

Markus Schulz,
Marco V,
ATB,
Hernan Cattaneo,
Sharam (DeepDish),
Rank 1,
Matthew Dekay,
Menno De Jong,
Blake Jarrell,
John O’Callaghan,
Gareth Emery,
Glenn Morrison and many more.

On the terrace, Contact offers the perfect alternative to the main room, serving up sounds that will reach 130bpms and no more.
Mark Knight’s Toolroom, Tocadisco and Deep Dish’s YoshiToshi throw their weight behind it — creating a ‘bang on the money’ terrace vibe.

Signed up so far are:

Sharam,
Mark Knight,
Laidback Luke,
Seb Fontaine,
Tocadisco,
Matthew Dekay,
Martijn Ten Velden,
Brian Cross,
Richard Dinsdale,
Cedric Gervais,

Armada and Contact at Amnesia, is the force to be reckoned with in Ibiza this summer.
When the clubbing world looks back on Ibiza 2008, we guarantee this will be the one night that shines bright above all others for the very best of reasons.

Third Ladies Competetion Review:

DJ Virgin Helana - Genre - Electro. Great mix, great production. quirky baselines, packed with attitude.
By the second half it looked as though Virgin Helana was going to take 1st place with breeze. She offered a tremendous electro mix, that oozed energy..

DJ Narcissa - Genre - Minimal A very smooth and well produced set, Narcissa had selected some fantastic minimal tracks..

DJ Fable - Genre - Trance Prog - Fable stepped it up almost immediately with some of the best melodic vocals, blended together with a twist of electro progressive?
Fable is known very well for taking a track and twisting it, to create another level.Very fable and Quite impressive!

Hosted by Vincent Vinyl

DJS selected for review this month

DJ Dirtee - Breaks/Jackin sessions Wednesday 9pm GMT
Down to earth London boy DJ Dirtee produces some of the best breakbeat mixes in the UK.
Artists include Plump DJS Chemical Brothers, Finger licking records etc.
His straight to the mark attitude causes a roit each and every session, but by hell does he kill the beats.

DJ Sens - Trance/Minimal - Thursdays 9pm GMT
DJ Sens is by far the most dedicated Citybeat DJ, his trance productions are beautiful, mind blowing, and very emotionally charged. This DJ has the passion, the flare to take you beyond your own emotions.
DJ Sens also selects the best of minimal, rolls it together and produces some mind melting minimal sets.

DJ Fable Friday 9pm GMT Trance/House/Electro
DJ Fable offers trance/electro/house followed by a new addition of Trancessions.
Every week she selects the best trance tracks and mix’s them into a wonderful melodic trip.

Love Parade 2008
June 24, 2008

Highway To Love

The Love Parade 2008 in Dortmund promises to be no less fun than previous editions of the world’s biggest street party, and the date for your diaries is the 19th July. In 1989, it was first celebrated 4 months before the demolition of the Berlin Wall. The parade attracts millions of EDM fans from all across the world for a mad street rally which gathers at the center of the parade is the Siegessäule in the middle of the park, and the golden angel atop the column has become a symbol of the parade.

Anyone who wants to experience Love Parade in the middle weekend of July should be aware of the fact that it is louder and more crowded than most concerts. With its water-cooled sound systems on every truck, the parade produces an extremely loud sound floor. The parade basically lives through those trucks. The trucks usually feature local, or important, clubs and their DJs. It has become a rule that only trucks that have sponsors from a techno related field, such as clubs, labels or stores, are allowed. It costs a lot of money to equip a truck. They are usually open on top and feature dancers. Their box-systems are mounted on the side or the rear. There are two tactics to choose from: Follow a truck that features a style that you like, or have them all pass you so you can see and hear more.

One famous picture from the Love Parade is people sitting and dancing on streetlamps, trees, commercial signs, telephone booths, which gave the event’s nickname "the greatest amateur circus on earth". Not to mention it’s a street party so everyone can attend and no tickets required. This year they are blocking the East to West highway route which has a traffic flow of over 100 000 cars per day, also storming up the main arterial route through the ever growing Ruhr district which is the most densly populated area in Germany. This is an absolute first time in the history of Germany that a highway has been closed for a music and cultural event! The best music will be generated for the crowd and keep your ears open for special appearance and performance by the top international DJs and head down there to support and enjoy a fabulous time.

Basically there is more fun packed into Citybeat Radio for your enjoyment. Enjoy it folks!

How to use the shoutbox and site

Logging into the site

firstly if you are new to the site you need to register with citybeat. To do this click Register located in the tabs bar above shoutbox (black bar pink writing) Click register and obviously register.
(tick remember me) and then wait for your email which will activate you and send you a password.(Remember to save this password)

Then visit http://citybeatradio.org/wp-login.php type your new name and password in to each box, then login.

You are now logged in to the shoutbox & site, you can chat away & you can comment on articles you read.

"I HATE THAT FLAMING PASSWORD" how do i change it?

Click settings and change it.
(Note this is where problems are arising with people not being able to login after changing, it’s your stored cache still trying to log you in auto from the last password) Were looking in to this at the moment and hope to rectify it soon.

Maybe for now it’s best to stick with the password given to you via email
OR change your password then  "log out, and re log back in, typing in your new password"

Shoutbox Options

New Features for shoutbox include flashy equaliser which can be turned on and off by clicking into your display settings and setting visualisations to OFF mode.

Change font colour is easy, look to the left of your writing pad in shoutbox you will find a small white box click to reveal many wonderful colour choices for your font click, and type away in your wonderful new colour. ( Note this doesnt save, if you close the page or wonder of on to another page, you have to re select your font colour)

Quality tab what the hell is that for?

Well not everyone has the latest PC out there and sometimes people struggle to keep streams and what not going, so if your computer is chugging lower the quality a little to suite your pc

Background Colour Options:

Not everyone has great eyesight and some will struggle to view the conversations going on in the shoutbox on a blackground, as many do on a white one, well the option is there for you to change this to suite your eyesight needs and hopefully make it easier for you to join into the conversations going on in the shoutbox.

Save

Once you have made any changes to the above options click save.

Search

Looking for something in particular to read?

type in your search and the search bar will trawl through our site to find exactly what your wanting to read. This will also grow as the site becomes packed with informations.

RSS

Latest news you can add to your news readers or igoogle and so on.

Top Bar Tabs

DJ/Hosts Tab

There profile pages, which are currently standard and need flashing up a little, but for now we have left things easy so you can get to know how to use this site simply.

Games

We have selected a few games to keep you occupied throughout your time on Citybeat, so if the shoutbox is a little quiet why not click a game and play.

Timetable

Obviously shows you a timetable of what DJ/Host is on and when. These changes quite alot so always make sure you check back regular to see the changes made.

Downloads

The download section is a previous tab we had on the older site and all regulars are fully aware of how to use this. But for those of you who are new to the site will not know. Trust me it’s very easy, want to download a track? click on folders to find a track or mix you’d like to download, click the file and hey presto it’s downloading.

If your a dj who would like to share a mix with us.

firstly email us at info@citybeatradio.org and then if given permission to share your mix or track, you can click the upload tab and upload your mix from your pc. MP3 format is always preferred.

People can also share track they enjoy by clicking the upload tab and selecting a track from there computers. Be warned that each track will be checked and any track that hasn’t been released for at least a month will be removed. This is down to respecting artists, they have to make there money and if we all share tracks before people buy them they get no credits. What’s the point in that?

Let’s be fair to all artists and do things correctly. Anyone ignoring this rule will be instantly banned from the site with no warnings.

Citybeat Radio tab

Takes you back to the front page

Player thumbnails

You may notice thumbnails of your players, media player, winamp, itunes etc
Well if you want to go of the site but still stay tuned and don’t particulary want to keep the site open then click a player and it will open in your player for you.

Logging In Problems:

We are fully aware that many of you seem to be having login problems, so we just want to let you know that this matter is being dealt with straight away, so don’t loose patience and no hair pulling please this will be solved very very soon.
(For now, we have explained how to get through this problem above, under "I HATE THIS PASSWORD, how do i change it") Topic above.

Tips:

When viewing around the site it is best to right click and open in new window, (right click open new window on any articles, posts, games, tabs and so on.)

Otherwise you will find the pages will navigate you around the site as expected, but it will also log you out of the shoutbox, causing the music to stop, whilst your checking the rest of the site out

Please remember this tip!

Well folks thats all the information i believe you will need to understand and get to know Citybeat Radio, the rest is a piece of *— okay i’ll keep it clean but you get my point.

Okay, Have fun and bring your friends :D

Any questions or support needed, feel free to contact us here info@citybeatradio.org

Best Wishes

Live outdoors stages spreading from 8-10 DJ stages and bringing some of the top artists to entertain the masses. Contrary to the popular culture, in June 2000 Creamfields Ireland was launched, with Creamfield Argentina not far being. There’s a Vintage Circus with an old-school fairground with good old fashioned funfair, carousel, swings, coconut shy and facepainting. The rides will be circled by a host of performers including trapeze artists, jugglers, showgirls and ringmasters. As well as the old-school merry-go-rounds there will modern funfair rides as well, with waltzers, twisters and other popular funfair rides. A vertical ramp for skateboarding and BMX biking.
